Reports are still trailing in from the High Sierra Music Festival which as usual offered a well-received mix of feature performances, workshops, guest appearances. As for one example of the third category Galactic invited a number of artists to the stage during its two sets (the band is still touring without an ailing Houseman but Latrice Barnett is on the road with the group). Barnett and the band were energized by the steady presence of Skerik from the mainstage on Thursday. The group’s late night Friday performance also included appearances by Fareed Haque, Joe Russo and Marco Benevento (aka The Duo), Cochemea ‘Cheme’ Gastelum and Alan Hertz.
A bit earlier on Saturday Vince Herman joined moe. during ‘The Weight.’ The Leftover Salmon frontman emerged from the audience in front of the mainstage and offered up a spontaneous verse of the song that referenced the festival.
