Just a week following String Cheese Incident’s Living Dream Experience, Horning’s Hideout in North Plains, Oregon was the site of another notable happening, the Third Annual Northwest String Summit. Yonder Mountain String Band hosted the festival which featured numerous other bluegrass-flavored artists many of whom took the stage with Yonder over the course of the weekend. In addition to Darol Anger who appeared with the group throughout the weekend on fiddle, other guest performers included Nick Forester and Chris Castino on Friday, The Del McCoury band on Saturday (during a few first set songs including ‘Sideshow Blues,’ ‘True Life Blues,’ and ‘Going Back To Kentucky’) and Benny Galloway, Tim O’Brien, Danny Barnes and the David Bromberg String Quartet on Sunday.
