Former Family Band keyboardist John Ginty will make his solo debut on June 9th at Teaneck, NJs Mexicali Blues, fronting a new ensemble that also includes vocalist Paul Gertz and the Garden State percussion duo Ghandharva. Ginty, a Jersey native, parted ways with Robert Randolph in October 2003, after spending over three-years in the pedal steel guitarists Family Band. Billed as John Ginty: His B-3 and his Band, this new collective likens its style to Traffic, featuring a mix of both piano and organ sounds. Staying close to home for the time being, Ginty has also announced a second show at Mexicali Blues on June 19th.
