It now appears that the documentary, Beanland: Rising from the Riverbed will premiere in May. The film, directed and produced by Scotty Glahn and Kutcher Miller outlines the story of Beanland, the group founded by George McConnell and Bill McCrory in 1985. Beanland released two discs and performed through 1993 (with the occasional reunion thereafter). The band roster includes two musicians currently in Widespread Panic: McConnell and JoJo Hermann, both of whom might well be available if Beanland regroups once again in association with the premiere (although as yet there has been no official announcement).
