Guitarist Mark Karan took the stage with The Dead Friday at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA. Karan, who was a member of The Other Ones from 1998 2001, stepped in following Drums, for Space-> Dark Star, exchanging riffs with guitarist Jimmy Herring.
Karan will tour with Bob Weir and RatDog this fall and continues to perform with his project, Jemimiah Puddleduck, with John Molo (Phil and Friends), JT Thomas and Bob Gross.
The Dead closed out its summer tour last night at The Gorge in George, WA. Look for more dates to be announced soon. The groups official site is www.dead.net.
