Drummer Jon Fishman (Phish, Pork Tornado) has been confirmed to play five shows with Jazz Mandolin Project next Month. Fishman, sans muumuu, will perform with JMP October 7 at Mr. Smalls in Pittsburgh, October 8 at Jack Quinns in Cincinnati (two shows), October 9 at the House of Blues in Chicago, October 10 at the Canopy Club in Champaign, IL and October 11 at the Copper Dragon in Carbondale, IL.
Fish has collaborated with the band on many occasions, most recently at last summers moe.down festival in Turin, NY. Jon has traveled great distances with Jazz Mando, touring in both Japan and Alaska in 2002. He also appears on the Tour de Flux and After Dinner Jams albums.
The fall tour will feature bassist Chris Dahlgren, who makes his return to the line-up, along with Jamie Masefield on Mandolin, Dan Weiss on drums and Mike Mad Dog Mavridoglou on trumpet and keyboards.
