Col. Bruce Hampton joined Robert Randolph & the Family Band last night at the Soul Kitchen in Mobile, AL. Hampton added vocals during Turn on Your Lovelight midway through the set.
Robert Randolph & the Family Band’s new album, Classified, is due out August 5 on Warner Brothers Records.
The group plays tomorrow at Headliners in Louisville, KY and will also perform Thursday at the WC Handy Blues Awards show at the Orpheum in Memphis, TN. The band is nominated for ‘Best New Artist of the Year’ and Robert is nominated for ‘Best Instrumentalist.’
