The latest installment in the Bonnaroo line of festivals will take place in Japan this October. Bonnaroo NO (North of Osaka) will be held on a concrete slab in downtown Tokyo. 75,000 music-lovers are expected to make the pilgrimage to the city. Although some have expressed concern regarding traffic delays since Tokyo is one of the most congested cities in the world, festival organizers emphasize, ‘We’re working with local authorities to study the traffic patterns and maximize the existing roadways that we have coming into the venue. When there are particular surges there may be back ups.’ At present, the only confirmed act is Galactic.
Meanwhile, Bonnaroo NE is slated for August 8-10 at Enterprise Park at Calverton Riverhead, New York. The Berkshire Mountain Music Festival (August 15-17 in Great Barrington, MA) is still trying to figure out what happened, commenting, ‘Bonnaroo NO, hey thats our catch phrase.’ The granddaddy of them all, the Bonnaroo Music Festival, now in its second year, will take place in Manchester, TN on June 13-15.
