Phil & Friends took the stage during Govt Mules show at the Fillmore last night in San Francisco. Midway through the first set, Phil Lesh, Rob Barraco and Jimmy Herring sat in with Mule for When Doves Cry -> Beautifully Broken. Drummer John Molo then emerged, completing Phil & Friends’ line-up, for Night of 1000 Stars, The Real Thing, No More Do I, Liberty and Lovelight, during which Govt Mules Matt Abts (drums) and Danny Louis (keyboards) returned to the stage.
Drummer Joseph Zigaboo Modeliste (The Meters) joined the band at the beginning of the second set, which included Sailin Shoes, Spanish Moon -> Cissy Strut -> Spanish Moon.
Lesh, Barraco and Herring were in town rehearsing with The Other Ones.
