MARIAVILLE, NY – Mystic Bowie sat in with The Grapes of Vaudevillian Fantasy and Deep Banana Blackout yesterday at the Gathering of the Vibes. In the late afternoon, Bowie (Tom Tom Club) joined the Grapes for Sun on the Beach during the festivals first set of music. The Deep Banana Blackout horn section then joined in for Skinny Dipping. It was an honor to open of The Vibes, says Rhei C. Gordon, lead vocalist of The Grapes. It was great to have the horns up there. They really changed the group dynamic.
Bowie later took the stage with Deep Banana for The Boot. It was a really fun set, notes DBB guitarist Fuzz. It was cool to get Mystic up there adding some reggae flavor. Andrew Gromiller also sang on Aint Doin Too Bad.
Deep Banana Blackout plays July 11 at McDonough Park in Plattsburg, NY. For details, visit the bands online calendar.
