The world premier of the new Widespread Panic documentary, The Earth Will Swallow You, will be held April 12 at the Roxy Theater in Atlanta, GA. The screening will be followed by a performance by The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, which is also featured in the film. The movie also includes guest performances by Jorma Kaukonen, Taj Mahal, Vic Chesnutt, Jerry Joseph, Danny Hutchins and Eric Carter. ‘One of the most satisfying parts of making this movie is the opportunity to expose music fans to talents of Widespread Panic’s ‘roots’ influences, people like Jerry Joseph and Danny Hutchins,’ says producer Geoff Hanson. ‘Their work cuts past that star machine, and we feel it will stand the test of time. We’re proud to shine some light on this community of musicians.’ The film be shown in select cities and will also be release on video and DVD by the end of the year.
