Aquarium Rescue Unit reunited briefly Saturday as part of the Zambiland Orchestra at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA. ARUs line-up (circa mid 90s) featured Col. Bruce Hampton, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Sipe, Jimmy Herring and Count MButu. Chuck Leavell also joined the band on Saturday. The set included Davey Crockett, Fixin To Die, and Shoeless Joe. A slew of other artists performed including the Yonrico Scott Band, Larry Keel Band, Mike Gordon, Swami Gone Zambinanas and the ‘Zambi Corps of Engineers’ featuring Jeff Coffin, Ritchie Hayward, John Cowan, Burbridge, Hampton, Herring, Danny Barnes, Tye North, Derek Jones and Jeff Mosier. Lincoln Metcalf conducted.
A portion of the proceeds from the show will benefit Mark Vann of Leftover Salmon.
