Special guests took the stage with Galactic drummer Stanton Moore Friday at B.B. King Blues Bar & Grill in New York City. Among the guests were Charlie Hunter, who played 6-string guitar (as opposed to his normal 8-string instrument) and saxophonist Sam Kininger (Soulive). The band ran through a range of instrumental funk improvisations throughout the evening.
Stanton and his band play tonight at The Fillmore in San Francisco. The group consists of Skerik, John Ellis, Brian Seeger and Jim Singleton. For details, visit www.galacticfunk.com.
