New Yorks Lion Den has announced that it will remain closed until this Friday. The club released a statement Wednesday night. We are stunned and deeply saddened by the tragic events that took place yesterday. While Mayor Giuliani insists that New York gets back to ‘business as usual’, we regretfully must cancel the shows taking place at the Lion’s Den on Wednesday September 12 and Thursday September 13. Recent information has indicated that by Thursday, most schools, businesses, roads, bridges, tunnels, trains, and subways will be re-opened. We will be open for business beginning this Friday night. Music has the power to heal, and we hope our shows can provide some solace and temporary escape for those that are grieving now. If anything positive could have come from this atrocity, it’s that New Yorkers have come together to exhibit tireless support and acts of human kindness. We have the deepest sympathy for all of those who were injured or killed, their families, and friends.
