ulu was physically removed from a college party by local police in Radford, VA Saturday night. When the groups originally scheduled gig at Radford University was canceled two days earlier, the band decided to play an impromptu show at a party on campus. At the beginning of the second set, the police arrived, responding to a noise complaint. After the officers left, ulu continued performing quiet jazzier selections. The police then returned and the band was detained and issued a noise violation. This whole thing is very rock and roll, said bassist Justin Wallace. 911 is a joke in Radford.
ulu plays Wednesday at Wetlands Preserve in New York City. For more dates, visit www.wetlands-preserve.org.
