JOSH CLARK (Tea Leaf Green)

What will you remember most about 2010?

Every year seems to get stranger and stranger, so I’ll remember 2010 as the strangest year I ever had, that is until 2011 came along.

What album or albums appeared most often in your iTunes?

Not an album but Josh Clark’s ultimate dance party mix. I’m very proud of this mix. It starts with George Harrison and ends with Ween and there’s also a Humpty Dance in there somewhere.

What was your favorite show or tour in 2010?

Faith No More at the Warfield in S.F. After the first encore and with the house lights up and half the folks streaming out they came back out and rocked one more. That’s Rock and Roll.

What emerging band should readers watch out for in 2010?

Truth and Salvage Company

What artist or artists would you most like to collaborate with next year?

I want to form a band with Slash, Mike Watt, and Jon Fishman, with Yoko Ono on vocals. Oh and John Mayer, but he doesn’t get to play we just keep him around to give him noogies backstage.

__________

CRIS JACOBS (The Bridge)

What will you remember most about 2010?

Highs and lows. Recording National Bohemian was an inspiring experience and a serious high point for The Bridge. However, losing my grandmother was a sad and devastating loss for me and my family.

What album or albums appeared most often in your iTunes?

Django Reinhardt Djangology and Ry Cooder Paradise and Lunch.

What was your favorite show or tour in 2010?

The Levon Helm birthday jam at Mountain Jam Festival featuring Levon, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Steve Earle, Ray Lamontagne, and Warren Haynes. Watching 70-year old Levon whacking those drums and belting out tunes with a huge grin on his face was amazing.

What emerging band should readers watch out for in 2010?

The Quick and Easy Boys from Portland, OR.

What artist or artists would you most like to collaborate with next year?

Los Lobos.

__________

ANDREW BARR (The Slip, Surprise Me Mr. Davis, Land of Talk)

What will you most remember about 2010?

I remember really enjoying hanging out at the Dog’s Fur bar in Portland, OR. I was there three times this year and every time it was amazing. There’s a big firepit and a nice hotel and good people. I realize also that the oil spill is going to burn in my memory in 2010. That’s kind of the marking event, I think, of the year. That was a mess and we had a lot of friends in new Orleans that were documenting it and were really stressed out. That was a tragedy.

What albums or album appeared most often in your itunes?

I spent so much time in the studio this year…I heard this band revecently, this band Ratatat. They’re a cool band. I was recording with Marco Benevento last week and we kept referencing that record. That’s a good record.

What was your favorite show or tour in 2010?

We had a great tour down the west coast with The Low Anthem. It was the Barr Brothers’ first ever tour and we got to go from San Francisco to Vancouver opening up for The Low Anthem— that was consistently good fun, lots of good hangs. It was cool to prove to ourselves that we could take a grand harp on the road and have it sounding good every night. That was really monumental for us.

What emerging band would you suggest readers watch out for?

I’ll plug this band and they don’t really need plugging, they’re called Lightning Bolt—they’ve been around for about 10 years. If you ever see them play and you wanna sweat and see a crazy show that’s one of my favorite bands.

What artist or artists would you most like to collaborate with in 2011?

Oumou Sangare. I think we can make a good track for her to sing over. She’s from Mali in West Africa and when I was over there I flew back on an airplane and I got to sit next to her and meet her. She won’t remember me but…
