Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart celebrated the Christmas season by sharing his third annual “poem turned ultimate holiday playlist.”
Reworking the words to T’was The Night Before Christmas, the rhythm devil linked together live Grateful Dead and Dead & Company selections, pulling from a variety of shows like Duke University ’78 and New Year’s 1990. He also included the 27-minute “Dark Star” from 2/13/1970.
With an amazing Fall Tour with Dead & Company under his belt, Hart ended his holiday verse with a particularly hopeful sentiment:
“So many shows in our hearts and our minds,
Inspiring us to always Be Kind;
The Music Never Stopped and there’s no end in sight,
Happy Holidays to all, and to all a good-night!”
