Kung Fu made its Burlington, VT debut this past Friday as part of Burlington Discover Jazz Festival. The group, which features guitarist Tim Palmieri (The Breakfast), keyboardist Todd Stoops (RAQ), saxophonist Kris Jensen, bassist David Livolsi and drummer Adrian Tramontano (The Breakfast), performed at Nectar’s and invited several additional guests to the stage. RAQ guitarist Chris Michetti joined in on versions of RAQ’s “Merge” and “Ventriloquist,” as well as Kung Fu’s “K-Jambalya and Billy Cobhams’s “Stratus.” In addition, Harstwick joined in for Kung Fu’s “Chakabarty Overdrive” and Herbie Hancock’s’ “Actual Proof.” Both RAQ and Kung Fu will appear at The Big Up and Camp Barefoot. Kung Fu will perform June 20 at Saratoga Spring’s Putnam Den.
