Phil Lesh & Friends offered a special Valentine’s Day webcast last night. The one-set performance took place at Lesh’s new San Rafael, CA venue Terrapin Crossroads and featured the Phil & Friends lineup of Lesh, Jackie Greene, John Scofield, Warren Haynes, Joe Russo and Jeff Chimenti. Though all six musicians have been part of past Phil Lesh & Friends lineups, this was the first time this specific version of the band publicly performed. It was also the first public show at Terrapin Crossroads since the Lesh family took over the space (a former seafood restaurant where Furthur played a few semi-private rehearsals). During their set, Phil Lesh & Friends debuted two classic rock covers: Derek & the Dominos’ “Layla,” which was led by Haynes, and The Who’s “Magic Bus,” a showcase for Greene. The same Phil Lesh & Friends configurations will perform in Broomfield, CO from February 16-18.
