My Morning Jacket’s Jim James will play a surprise show in New York City today at 5 PM at Cadillac’s new Cadillac House in NYC’s SoHo neighborhood. The show is free.

James recently wrapped up a run at Red Rocks with My Morning Jacket, which saw the band joined by founding guitarist Johnny Quaid at various points throughout the two-night run. The band also uncharacteristically dipped into their covers repertoire with tune from Prince, Bob Dylan, The Commodores, Eagles and more.

Next up for MMJ is a show at Lockn’ in August.
