Hundreds of homes were destroyed after two wildfires rapidly grew from high winds slicing through Colorado on Thursday. According to The Denver Post, the winds reached over 80-100 mph, with some as high as 115 mph.
One of the homes belonged to the founder of Colorado-based seven-piece funk ensemble The Motet Dave Watts. He and his partner Danielle tragically lost three pets and were displaced by the loss of their home. Since the fires, friends of the family and band created a GoFundMe to help them rebuild their home and life with a goal of $15,000.

Our brother & fearless leader Dave Watts and his partner Danielle tragically lost their home + 3 pets in the devastating CO fires yesterday. Words can’t express the impact that Dave has had on all our lives, the local community and music scene as a whole https://t.co/XCE6AnFEnJ
