After teasing a new archival release last Friday, Phish have announced that the next addition to their archival catalog: the band’s Aug. 17, 1993 performance at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas.
Many predicted that the show would be one from Kansas, as the image that accompanied the tease contained a sunflower, the state flower of Kansas. The show comes from a vaulted period in Phish’s history, August of 1993. It features a somewhat standard first set for that era, which goes to show how incredible that period was, considering the set features “Divided Sky,” “Weigh” and “Fluffhead.” Meanwhile, the second set contains some incendiary improvisation, particularly during “David Bowie.” Check out the full setlist below, via Phish.net.
The show will be on LivePhish.com this Friday, Jan. 29. Pre-order it here.

January 26, 2021 at 1:31 pmThis Kansas 1993 show looks pretty solid.
But when it comes to 1993…NYE 1993 in Worcester…that’s what I want them to officially release.

January 26, 2021 at 1:57 pmAgreed, Chris.
NYE 1993 was my first Phish show so it holds a special place in my heart as well.
Although I do have a copy of the entire night (A+ soundboard quality) which I recorded when it was broadcast the next day (New Year’s Day) on WBCN in Boston, alas it lives on cassette as I have never had time to convert it to digital. Hopefully Phish will drop that whole show on us at some point in the future.
Great suggestion Chris!

January 29, 2021 at 9:42 amNYE ’93 has my favorite versions of Reba, Ginseng, Antelope, and Peaches. They were so dialed in that night.
