Jason Isbell and Amanda shires are the latest artists to perform for NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk (Home) Concert’ series. The husband/wife duo performed three songs–“Dreamsicle,” “Overseas” and “It Gets Easier”–for the series.
Shires recently shared a song “The Problem,” which features Isbell. The track grapples with reproductive autonomy and reflects on Sept. 28th’s International Safe Abortion Day.
“I’m proud of this song,” Shires wrote via social media. “It wasn’t an easy one to write, but it was worth every tear and all the heartbreak along the way… I hope you can listen with an open heart. This song is about unconditionally supporting someone you love. This is a love song. Let’s be there for each other.”
The duo also announced a series of shows (some drive-in, some socially distanced) for October. More information on that here.

October 1, 2020 at 6:02 pmJason is awesome, love seeing him and his band live. That said his wife is gross and writing a “love” song about abortion is disgusting, dude needs to dump that filth and find “himself” again. He is a great poet and their Union is tragic. She’s no muse
