After releasing “The Problem,” a song which grapples with reproductive autonomy and reflects on Sept. 28th’s International Safe Abortion Day, creative partners (and husband and wife) Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires have announced a drive-in show at Maggie Valley Festival Grounds in Maggie Valley, N.C., presented by The Grey Eagle. The show is set for Nov. 5.
The venue laid out a series of guidelines for the show on their website; “You are purchasing a 20×15 box with space for parking and a seating area beside your vehicle, if you choose to enjoy the concert from outside your vehicle (bring your camping chairs),” they wrote.
The duo also announced a pair of shows as part of Charleston Music Hall’s ‘Around The Bend’ concert series, set for Nov. 6 and 7.
Along with “The Problem”‘s release, Shires shared a few words about what the song means to her. “I’m proud of this song,” she wrote via social media. “It wasn’t an easy one to write, but it was worth every tear and all the heartbreak along the way… I hope you can listen with an open heart. This song is about unconditionally supporting someone you love. This is a love song. Let’s be there for each other.”
Proceeds from “The Problem” will go toward the Yellowhammer Fund, an organization based in the southern U.S. which “envisions a society in which reproductive decisions are made free from coercion, shame, or state interference, a society in which individuals and communities have autonomy in making healthy choices regarding their bodies and their futures.”
Tickets to the North Carolina show go on sale on Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. ET. Purchase tickets to Shires and Isbell’s drive-in show here. Charleston tickets go on sale on Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. ET. For tickets to those chose, head here.

September 29, 2020 at 6:10 pm“I said, “If today’s going to be the day, let’s find you a real nice bottle because I’m not going to let you just have Listerine.” -Shires. I guess if promoting abortion is a love song, then not caring about your husband’s alcoholism is just to be expected. While the comments in this section are pretty harsh….gonna have to agree with ’em anyway…sick and sad couple, both of ’em
EXACTLY
September 29, 2020 at 3:53 pmNo it isn’t at all but Jason said he had a “major relapse”to gain sympathy and pub durning the pandemic. He swallowed listerine accidentally as an alcoholic myself that is utterly offensive. He is a piece of shit and a murderer
wow
September 29, 2020 at 6:25 pmthe “major relapse” quote was actually from Dax Shepard getting hooked on pain meds, which obviously he should have known to avoid (being alcoholic himself). Recovering alcoholic here, too bro. That said, if I accidentally drank listerine, not only would I not share that info publicly, if I was truly concerned, I would’ve gagged and thrown that shit up, move on with my recovery, and take it as a lesson learned. And it is offensive, man…agreed. This guy is sooo much better off without that ****. I knew something was off with her, now we all know…abortion is a love song…open your heart, eliminate potential kids, right? -peace
