Despite some early hints, Woodstock 50 has officially revealed a majority of its lineup, including marquee acts like Dead & Company, Santana, Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, Sturgill Simpson, Brandi Carlile, Hot Tuna, Gary Clark Jr., John Fogerty, The Lumineers, The Raconteurs, The Black Keys, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Margo Price, The Marcus King Band and more.
There will also be plenty of non-rock acts filling out the Aug. 16-18 billing. Headliners like Chance The Rapper, Miley Cyrus, Halsey, Janelle Monáe and Jay-Z will represent the worlds of hip-hop, pop and R&B at the celebratory event.
Moving away from its original home at Bethel Woods, Woodstock 50 will be held in Watkins Glen, NY.
And as the festival simultaneously embraces music’s present era, a number of original performers will return to the Woodstock stage. David Crosby performed at the original Woodstock with CSNY as well as Woodstock ’94 with Crosby Stills & Nash. Country Joe McDonald – who created one of Woodstock’s most famous moments with his anti-war
“I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-to-Die Rag” – will also perform at Woodstock 50, as will Amy Helm, who will carry on her father Levon Helm’s legacy as a performer at both Woodstock ’69 and Woodstock ’94 with The Band.
The Grateful Dead also performed at the original Bethel Woods event, and Bob Weir returned to the Woodstock stage in 1994 to offer a duo set with longtime collaborator Rob Wasserman.
According to the official announcement, Woodstock 50 will also mirror its predecessor by embracing social causes. Organizations like HeadCount, Global Citizen, Hiring America, March For Our Lives and Conversation International will be on site to raise awareness for their respective causes.

March 20, 2019 at 12:43 pmPermit is for 100k. I’ll laugh when only 30k show up. Especially when the announce the ticket prices. You know they are going to be fucking retarded.
Fuck everyone involved with this. This feels like grave robbing, which I’m sure isn’t beneath these leeches.
PHUCKDIS
March 20, 2019 at 1:44 pmI bet they’ll go on “Groupon” at 1/2 price after a few weeks on sale. These guys have been chasing bottled lightening since September 1969, it ain’t going to happen again. Should have learned after 1994…
What's $happening?
March 20, 2019 at 11:15 amAlmost as pathetic as having Trey playing at the debacle that was FTW. Another Overpriced custie fest.

March 20, 2019 at 9:49 amPASS. America is officially dead. THIS SUCKS AND SO DO ALL OF YOU. TRY HARDER, EVERYONE, versus trying to please everyone. I wouldn’t be caught dead getting herp at this non-event.

March 20, 2019 at 10:28 amI don’t know, “Pussy Riot” sounds like it could be interesting. Good thing Dead & CO is getting paid in advance!

March 20, 2019 at 9:20 am“The Grateful Dead also performed at the original Bethel Woods event” – err not, it was a dairy farm back in 1969… Looks horrible in any event.

March 20, 2019 at 4:34 pmerr… Yes, it was on a dairy farm, Max Yasgur’s dairy farm… in Bethel. That farm in Bethel is a part of the Bethel Woods location. Though I agree… the lineup certainly has more of a Ticketmaster/LN event feel than it does any type of Woodstock vibe…
Eat Me
March 21, 2019 at 7:29 amwell… hard to play at an “event” that wasn’t created or named for 40 more years. Original Bethel Woods “site” or “location” would be appropriate. These unpaid interns have to hone their skills if they think they’ll ever find a paying gig. Unless we are talking about the great Furthur who did 2 awesome shows at Bethel Woods, I was 2nd row for 2012 when Bobby married his tour manager on stage during half time.
