Strangers Helping Strangers, the fan-based charitable organization run by Strangefolk fans, has announced several upcoming food drives. The organization will be collecting non-perishable food items at the following Strangefolk shows: October 26 at Milestones in Rochester, NY, October 29 at the Conduit in Trenton, NJ, October 30 at the Paradise in Boston, MA, October 31 at the State Theater in Portland, ME, November 1 at Pearl Street in Northampton, MA and November 2 and 3 at Higher Ground in Winooski, VT. Throughout the fall, SHS will be raffling off a framed autographed Strangefolk Halloween poster (the winner will be drawn at the November 3 show). Other prizes include t-shirts and live CDs.
Since 1998, Strangers Helping Strangers has collected more than 10,000 non-perishable food items for charities in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
