Several New York musicians will perform at three benefit concerts/art exhibits for psychedelic graffiti muralist and album cover artist Tim Vega, who passed away this past April. Vega designed Blues Travelers debut album cover, Govt Mules original logo, several H.O.R.D.E. posters as well as murals for former New York music venue Wetlands Preserve. His sister, singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega, along with community arts center HERE, are presenting a memorial exhibit, which runs from December 6 December 21. An opening night concert will be held on December 6, featuring performances by Vega, Warren Haynes (Govt Mule, Allman Brothers Band) and X25/Tidy (formerly Xanax-25). On December 7, a show featuring Vega, Jaik Miller will be held. A third concert will take place on December 16, with performances by John Popper (Blues Traveler), Chris Barron (Spin Doctors) and Joan Osborne. All shows begin at 10 p.m. following a 9 oclock reception in HEREs art galley. All proceeds will benefit the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and HEREart.
