Time travel provided the theme for the String Cheese Incident/Keller Williams New Year’s Eve show. The night began with a set from Williams, clad in a white tux, backed by SCI. He performed a number of originals along with three Bee Gees tunes including opener ‘Stayin Alive,’ a solo take on ‘Night Fever,’ and the set-closing ‘You Should Be Dancing’ (a segue from ‘Freeker By The Speaker’). Williams and Liza Oxnard later appeared at the conclusion of the String Cheese set that followed during a performance of ‘Time Warp’ (from Rocky Horror Picture Show) that proceeded the New Year’s Eve countdown, a sensory overload of laser lights and costumed dancers/hula hoopers of various stripes and badge designations (audience participation facilitated by Peak Experience Productions). In the third set the band also offered a cover of Pink Floyd’s ‘Time’ (which segues into a verse of Floyd’s ‘Breathe’) and later, a take on David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’ as part of its three song encore.
