Guitarist Rich Robinson (The Black Crowes) has formed a new band, Hookah Brown, which will head out for a Northeast tour beginning next week. The quartet includes drummer Bill Dobrow, vocalist John Hogg and bassist Fionn OLochlainn. One of my goals is to keep Hookah Brown a four-piece, says Robinson. I don’t want to try and re-make The Black Crowes. I want to take what I learned from the band and try it in a different context. It’s all about leaving space in the music. The group will play a few a Black Crowes tunes, in addition to a wealth of originals.
The tour begins Tuesday, January 21 at Fletchers in Baltimore and will hit Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
