The Ominous Seapods will reunite in New York this weekend for the only second time since July 2001. As with the Pods’ two shows this past February, the group will perform with a three guitar army. This Friday the 28th at Bridge Street Music Hall in East Syracuse, NY, the final incarnation of the group (including guitarist Todd Pasternack) will be joined by the cofounder Max Verna (who left the band at the end of 1998). On Saturday in New York City at the No Moore Bar , moe. guitarist Al Schnier will perform in the role of Verna (this show was originally scheduled at the defunct Tobacco Road). Mutant mayhem is anticipated.
The group will also release a Best of the Baja Bash disc at these gigs, which will present the Seapods’ final regular season appearance at Ensanada, Baja California, Mexico on 7/28/01.
