This past weekend, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, continued its west coast tour and collaborated with some other artists in the process. On Friday night at Independent in San Francisco, Robert and Marcus Randolph joined in the closing forty-five minutes of DDBB’s second set. The cousins appeared for a few songs including John the Revelator, Jesus on the Mainline and Ill Fly Away. The Dozen reciprocated on Sunday at the Doheny Heritage Festival in Dana Point, CA taking the stage with the Family Band for the cover of of Thank You (falettinmebemiceself).’ A bit later that evening the Dozen horns backed Los Lobos for a take on Is This All There Is that featured Little Willie G on vocals. The DDBB tour, in celebration of its Funeral for a Friend release will continue tomorrow in Bend, OR at the Domino Room.
