The Grateful Dead originally had scheduled a performance on September 1, 1990 at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. However just over a month earlier, keyboardist Brent Mydland passed away and the band was not ready to perform on that date (the group would introduce Vince Welnick on keys nearly a week later at the Coliseum in Richfield, OH). However, Jerry Garcia decided to honor the Shoreline date with the Jerry Garcia Band. Today, nearly fifteen years later, that show has been released as the groups debut DVD, Live at Shoreline. Garcia is joined on these fourteen songs by David Kemper on drums, John Kahn on bass and Melvin Seals on keys, along with vocalists Jaclyn LaBranch and Gloria Jones.
