This past weekend Keller Williams, Jeff Austin, Keith Moseley joined forces for a performance at Denvers Fillmore Auditorium as Grateful Grass. The performance focused, as billed, on bluegrass-style versions of Grateful Dead material, starting with a fitting take on One More Saturday Night and closing 90 minutes later with a run from Scarlet Begonias into Fire on the Mountain. Williams sang lead on most selections, although Austin stepped up for Loose Lucy and Moseley contributed Casey Jones. Each of the performers also offered one of his own compositions: Williams Crater in the Backyard, Moseleys Resume Man and Austins New Horizons. Other songs from the songs from the Dead canon included: Eyes of the World, Black Peter, St. Stephen and Bird Song. At present there are no additional confirmed dates for the trio.
