Widespread Panic will celebrate New Years Eve at Atlantas Philips Arena. For the second year in a row, the veteran jam-titans will hold court at the arena on December 30 and 31.
On Saturday the North Mississippi Allstars opened for Widespread Panic at Birmingham, ALs Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex Arena. During Widespread Panics set, the NMAs Cody Dickinson played washboard on Surprise Valley, which segued into a drum jam featuring Cecil ‘Peanut’ Daniels. Cody Dickinson also appeared with Widespread Panic Friday at Charleston, SCs North Charleston Coliseum, playing keyboards while his brother Luther added guitar to Junior. The younger Dickinson later returned during the groups second set for an extended drum jam. The same night former Leftover Salmon Mandolin player Drew Emmitt emerged for Pickin’ up the Pieces, while the North Mississippi Allstars brought their Smiling Assassins cohort JoJo Hermann out for a bit during their opening set. Widespread Panic will perform at Evansville, INs The Centre tomorrow.
