Two generations of pickers will come together for a series of southern shows next week. Larry Keel and Peter Rowan will share the stage over the course of five consecutive nights starting on December 13 at the Georgia Theatre in Athens, GA and continuing through December 17 at Gottrocks in Greenville, SC. Rowan, who began his career as one of Bill Monroes Blue Grass Boys later joined forces with David Grisman and was a member of Old in the Way. Most recently, the newgrass pioneer has folded reggae into his sound. Meanwhile, Larry Keel, who released a disc with his wife Jenny (bass fiddle) and Keller Wiliams as Keller & the Keels earlier this year (_Bridge_), continues to tour with his band Natural Bridge which features the Keels along with Jason Flournoy (banjo) and Mark Schimick (mandolin). The five shows will offers sets from both Larry Keel & Natural Bridge and Rowan, with extensive collaboration promised as well.
