Once again Friendship Park will serve as an apt setting for a festival known as A Bears Picnic. While the iconography for A Bears Picnic does not feature the Grateful Deads signature Dancing Bears logo, the roster offers numerous artists associated with the group. Former Grateful Dead member Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay will appear with her Donna Jean & the Tricksters band, while the current incarnation of Jerry Garcias former side project New Riders of the Purple Sage will perform over two nights. Other artists include Railroad Earth, Peter Rowan & Tony Rice Quartet, David Gans, Juggling Suns, and Boris Garcia. The Picnic will take place on July 20-22 at the Park, which is located in Milton, PA which is 20 miles south of Williamsport.
