On Saturday evening, The String Cheese Incident brought their winter tour to Stateline, NV, for a show at MontBleu Resort and Casino, and the band ended up welcoming a couple of special guests throughout the night.
After a first set that featured a cover of the Talking Heads classic “Life During Wartime,” SCI opened set two with “Get To You,” a recent tune that featured The Motet’s Lyle Divinsky on the studio version. The set opener also featured Dumpstaphunk’s Tony Hall. The second guest spot of the night came at the close of Saturday’s encore, when String Cheese brought out longtime JGB keyboardist Melvin Seals to join Kyle Hollingsworth behind his keys rig and help out on the Michael Kang-led cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Deal.”
See Saturday’s full setlist below, along with fan-shot video of the “Deal” collaboration. Next week, The String Cheese Incident will head back to Colorado for a show at Aspen’s Belly Up before playing the Aspen’s inaugural Après Festival. See the band’s full schedule here.
