Sweet Relief Musicians Fund has launched a financial campaign to provide support for Tom “TC” Constanten’s ongoing health struggles. The latest effort to give back to the Grateful Dead’s late-60s contributor follows the success of a GoFundMe fundraiser. It continues the mission to provide the necessary assistance during Constanten’s battle against lung cancer.

According to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund’s website, which has set up a page on its website devoted to providing background information and ways to help, “Tom “TC” Constanten, keyboardist and former member of the Grateful Dead, is in urgent need of financial assistance due to a current battle with lung cancer. He faces significant health challenges that require ongoing care, treatment, and support.”

“Best known for his work with the Grateful Dead during their early years, TC contributed his classically trained keyboard brilliance to albums like Aoxomoxoa and Anthem of the Sun, plus their fan-loved live album, 1969’s Live Dead.  Beyond the Dead, TC has spent decades sharing his music with the world, touring, and collaborating with artists across genres,” the site elicits.

In conclusion, “Throughout his life, TC has given so much to the world through his music. Now, it’s our turn to give back.” Sweet Relief also clarified that “Donations will go directly toward covering medical bills and other vital living expenses during this incredibly difficult time.”

By visiting sweetrelief.org, individuals can donate via PayPal or check to help offset the financial burden associated with Constanten’s medical costs.

According to the 501(c 3) nonprofit’s mission, “Sweet Relief Musicians Fund provides financial assistance to all types of career musicians and music industry workers who are struggling to make ends meet while facing physical or mental health issues, disability, or age-related problems.” Learn more here.
