This week, Karina Rykman appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers. The musician sat in with the program’s house ensemble, known as The 8G Band–a gig she has taken during lulls in her touring schedule. During last night’s program, Rykman added playful riffs and notable music moments.

To start, Thursday night’s talk show began with Meyers welcoming his first guest, Katy Turr, author, broadcast journalist, and known Phish fan–a fact which Rkyman played up with a tease of the Vermont foursome’s “Tweezer” during the guest’s entry. Watch below.

Later, during a back-and-forth with fellow guest Larry David, the Curb Your Enthusiasm co-creator and star joked that he could take the guest drummer’s place in the house band, saying, “Come on! You don’t think I could do that?” David requested a beat before reminding the drummer, Colleen Clark, that he was taking her spot in the configuration.

Rykman picked up the request for instrumentation, leading the troupe in a taste of Led Zeppelin’s “Moby Dick” as collateral. Following Rykman’s late-night appearance, she will take the stage tonight at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, Pa., supporting her debut album Joyride. For more touring information, visit www.karinarykman.com.
