Last summer, after time away from the stage, Neil Young made his grand return, taking part in a solo West Coast jaunt dubbed the Coastal Tour. The appearances marked the lapse of a four-year cycle sans live shows, making for a humble comeback for the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. As a follow-up, Young took to his Neil Young Archives, alluding to the possibility of an impending Love Earth tour.

The letter, shared late last week, started with a heartfelt introduction scribed by the artist, who wrote, “I hope you and your families are doing well at this time. With the world marred in wars, it’s a good time to think of family and those you love, trying to make their days a little better.”

Young continued, “I am looking forward to playing some this summer. We are looking at possible places for our LOVE EARTH tour.” In naming the tour, he alluded to the source, 2022’s Crazy Horse co-release, World Record, which features the track “Love Earth,” a shining example of appreciation for our natural environment and the things humans tend to take for granted.

The note continued, with Young’s requirements for the road, presented in a list form, which included Farmaid Homegrown food, outdoor venues for health safety, renewable fuel for our buses and trucks, and lastly, he added, music for the soul.
