Afroman has tossed his hat in the ring and joined the race to be the 47th President of the United States in 2024. The musician announced his running with an Instagram post on Tuesday.

For the announcement post, adorned in a tan fur coat, lip-shaped shades, and a marijuana ring on his fingers, proudly in front of an American flag with his right hand over his hear, the “Because I Got High” rapper shared his intentions. He followed up the following day on Wednesday, Dec. 21, with a separate Instagram post laying out his eight main priorities if elected president.

In the post, Afroman addressed his followers and wrote with the cadence of someone giving a presidential speech; his caption pointed out various issues the United States has been facing and continues to struggle with. “There comes a time in the course of human events when change must be affected. That time is now,” he firmly stated. “Americans are suffering, and the status quo is no longer acceptable…We need a candidate that is truly elected by the people, and for the people,” implying without question that the candidate is none other than himself.
