Last night, Bob Weir sat in with Sammy Hagar & The Circle for two songs at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Hagar was also joined by Ronnie Dunn and Gavin DeGraw on Tuesday night.
Halfway through the single set performance, Weir joined his longtime friend and neighbor, Hagar, on stage for a cover of Buddy Holly’s “Not Fade Away,” which has long been a Grateful Dead concert staple. Weir sang the first verse of the classic tune, followed by Hagar who offered the second and Dunn took lead on the third.
Dunn then left the stage leaving Weir and Hagar, to cover Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll” with his band which includes drummer Jason Bonham the son of Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham.
For the final song of the evening, Gavin Degraw joined the band for a cover of Van Halen’s “When It’s Love.” Hagar’s band also includes Michael Anthony, who co-founded Van Halen.
Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros perform at the Ryman Auditorium tonight. Tickets are still on sale and can be purchased here.
