Andrew Marlin of the acclaimed folk duo Mandolin Orange announced earlier today via press release that he will be releasing a pair of solo albums in February. The first installment, titled Witching Hour, will be released on February 5th; the second album, Fable & Fire, will drop on February 19th. The dual release is the product of quarantine-induced creativity, with each album being fully instrumental, capturing emotive melodies and intricate arrangements. 

Marlin has shared a single from each album. “Woodland Star” from Witching Hour is a gleeful-sounding lullaby composed to lull Marlin’s daughter to sleep. “Salter Path / Throes of Night” from Fable & Fire draws on influence from Irish folk and paints a striking portrait of momentary contemplation.  Fans can hear both singles as well as pre-order each album at Marlin’s bandcamp page.
