To celebrate Black liberation and take stock of the current Black Lives Matter Movement, Anderson .Paak – who has slayed major festival stages from Bonnaroo to Coachella to SXSW – released a new track “Lockdown” on Juneteenth.

The cinematic video for “Lockdown” depicts the current struggle of the Black community, closing with Paak holing his real-life son with tears in his eyes. He also closes the clip with the names of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and many others lost to police brutality.

“I can’t thank y’all enough. To everybody who shared the video, listened to the song and or had any parts of putting this together. Endless thank yous,” Paak wrote following the release of the clip. “I’m overwhelmed by the love this piece has received. We Ain’t gota stop cause they tell us to. People keep rising.”

To further assist his community, the multi-instrumentalist’s .Paak House charity has made donations to the Action Bail Fund LA, the Atlanta Solidarity Fund and the Albany Safety Fund for Black Lives.

Additionally, all cast and crew salaries for the video were split among organizations like the Black Emotional and MentalHealth Collective, Dream Defenders and Color of Change.
