English psych-rock outfit The Pretty Things played their “Last Bow” farewell show at the indigo theater in London’s O2 last week, and the ’60s-era band welcomed a couple of very special guests in Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour and singer-songwriter Van Morrison for several tunes throughout the evening.

As Rolling Stone reports, Gilmour was the first of the two musicians to emerge, as the guitarist joined The Pretty Things during their second of three sets for five songs (most of which come from the band’s 1968 album S.F. Sorrow, which they rerecorded live at Abbey Road studios with Gilmour in 1998), while Morrison came out in the following set for for covers of “Baby, Please Don’t Go” and Bo Diddley’s “I Can Tell” and “You Can’t Judge a Book by the Cover.” Gilmour then helped close out the third set on “L.S.D.” and “Old Man Going.”

The night’s encore also featured another collaborative Bo Diddley cover, when both Gilmour and Morrison joined The Pretty Things for “Road Runner” (which the band released as a single in 1965) before frontman Phil May and guitarist Dick Taylor closed out the farewell evening with “Loneliest Person.”
