Trey Anastasio brought his solo tour to The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA, last night, and marked the show with a brand new cover for the band, along with some newer tunes and older classics.
The new cover came near the middle of the first set, when TAB debuted their version of Bob Marley’s “Coming in from the Cold” from his 1980 album Uprising. Elsewhere in the state, coincidently, Marley’s sons were leading a 40th anniversary tribute to his 1977 classic, Exodus.
Set two featured some TAB staples like “Cayman Review” and one of Anastasio’s cuts from Phish’s latest album Big Boat, “Tide Turns,” before the band rounded out the night with a two-song encore of Chuck Berry’s “Back in the USA,” which they debuted earlier this year, and the recently revealed original, “Soul Planet.”
The full setlist from last night’s show, as it appears in our Box Scores section, is available below. Jambase.com has also shared a video of most of he performance. Next up for TAB is a two-night stay at Oakland’s Fox Theater this weekend after Anastasio helps honor Red Light Management’s Coran Capshaw tonight in Santa Monica.
