John Scofield’s next project appears to be a power trio with Brad Mehldau on synth and Mark Guiliana on drums. Scofield announced in a Facebook post that he would play both guitar and bass in this new trio.

“Here I am rehearsing with Brad Mehldau on synths, Mark Guiliana, drums and me on guitar AND bass,” Scofield said. “I gave up on the double neck and put the bass on a stand.Works ok I think! This new power trio tours starting end of May. I’m stoked. New tunes!”
