Favorite 2009 Release
1. Phish Joy (The sonic embodiment of my feelings about Phish returning: sweet joy!)
2. The Avett Brothers I and Love and You (Yeah there’s pretty much no banjo, but it’s still probably some of the best songwriting of 2009)
3. Nathan Moore – Folk Singer (Is it 1965? This album sure makes you feel that way: a transcendent folk experience) 4. Andrew Bird Noble Beast (That’s right, violin through a loop pedal; not too shabby, albeit not his most ambitious album)
5. Hoots and Hellmouth The Holy Open Secret (It’s like the moonshine at a ho down)
