Joseph “Red Dog” Campbell, who served as an Allman Brothers Band crew member for over three decades has been diagnosed with cancer. On August 14 and 15 a number of musicians are going to come together to help raise funds to defray his medical expenses. The Throw The Dog A Bone Benefit will take place at the Cox Capitol Theatre in Macon, Georgia on the 14th. An auction and “The Life And Times Of Red Dog” slide show will be followed by a concert, with Tommy Talton and Davin McCoy and The Coming Attractions both confirmed thus far. Then, on the 15th at Grant’s Lounge in Macon a barbecue and “Where It All Began” Jam will begin at 2 PM.
