This spring Booty Collins will release his first new new studio album of original funk material since 2002’s Play With Bootsy. Set for an April 25 release in the UK (and a date TBD in the US), the new disc is intended to pay tribute “to the people that were influential on creating the funk as we know it today.” Numerous guests join Collins on the album, entitled Tha Funk Capital of the World, which will be packaged in a 3D lenticular sleeve. In addition to his brother, the late Catfish Collins, Samuel L. Jackson, Dr. Cornell West, Rev. Al Sharpton, George Clinton, Bernie Worrell, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Chuck D, Sheila E, Bobby Womack and Buckethead all make appearances.
